People have told me that once we got married, our holiday lives would become chaos from having to choose which family we're going to visit and which one we're going to have to miss out on from year to year. Thankfully, our families are very accommodating and this year we were able to attend every single one. We were very blessed to also attend Christmas Eve service at Central Baptist.
Our first Christmas was a trip to Apple Valley to spend with Matt's mom's family where we had a lot of fun ice skating, wii bowling and entertaining our nephew on the 3 hour car ride. Sunday night, we celebrated with Matt's mom, dad, sister, brother in-law and nephew in Slayton, MN. This year's Christmas was unique because we are all following Dave Ramsey and maintaining a budget. So rather than buying lots of gifts it was decided that this year we would only get one inexpensive gift for each person. Matt and I had a lot of fun with this task because it gave us the opportunity to make as many gifts as possible. These can be seen on our page titled "Projects"!
Christmas Eve & Day we spent with my family in Dell Rapids, first having supper with my mom's parents and exchanging gifts. Christmas Day we also traveled to Garretson and had lunch with my dad's family. I always love having extra family time...playing games, laughing about past memories and making many more. This year apples to apples, scattergories and SkipBo were big hits! This upcoming weekend, we're traveling with Matt's parents to Osage, IA to spend time with Matt's dad's side of the family.
